Does 10 Things I Hate About You attract our modern audience more so then Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew? In my opinion, it is the more recently composed text that has appeal, but responders can still gain insight from The Taming of the Shrew. In both texts there are themes presented that reflect the values of it's time. 10 Things I Hate About You and The Taming of The Shrew both have similarities and variants. I will

our society because it is specifically designed to do so. 10 Things I Hate About You incorporates modern values, using colloquial language and humour that we can relate to. This is not to say that Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew is of no significance. This play poses some important questions to it's responder and forces them to look at things in a different light. Both texts are important in different ways, but 10 Things is more appealing.
